There will be 85 seats available for the public for the sentencing in the case of Commonwealth vs. Gerald A. Sandusky scheduled for Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 9:00 a.m., in Courtroom # 1 of the Centre County Courthouse. Seating will be on a first come basis with doors opening at 7:45 a.m. Members of the public must show a form of photo identification to gain access. The defendant has waived his criminal arraignment scheduled for Wednesday, January 11, 2012. Mr. Sandusky and the attorneys will NOT appear for this proceeding. The criminal arraignment is a process where charges are read to the defendant and a plea of guilty or not guilty is entered.

* The Centre County Court of Common Pleas has established a “lottery” to award a limited number of seats for the Commonwealth vs. Sandusky preliminary hearing scheduled for December 13, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. in Courtroom #1 of the Centre County Courthouse. Applications for seating will be accepted on the county web page at www.co.centre.pa.us/media Wednesday, December 7, 2011 starting at 12 noon and will remain open until 12 noon on Thursday, December 8, 2011. Registration will require your name and email address. A random drawing will be held to assign available seats for this preliminary hearing. Those drawn will be notified by email by Friday, December 9, 2011, and given instructions for picking up their pass for admission. **** THERE WILL BE NO “GENERAL ADMISSION” AND NO “FIRST COME FIRST SERVE” AT THE COURTHOUSE TO GAIN ADMISSION TO THE HEARING.
